I’m inclined to think it’s the #1 problem with RPs. Or at least in the top 5.
I’d understand if it’s something the character does (IC=/=OOC!), but 10 times out of 9 when this happens it’s the mun speaking through their character, especially if their character would know about a gender neutral species, or is supposed to be open-minded and accepting. [If it’s a species trait, then no, no matter what you say the character does not “have” to be either a boy or a girl.] They do this simply because the pronouns are “hard” or “aren’t grammatically correct”. They are correct. Don’t be a baby.
You may run the game, but the purpose of the game isn’t for us to entertain you. We’re here to play our characters and have fun AS A GROUP, and our characters going to react in ways IC for them. If you aren’t prepared for them to do certain actions and if the purpose of your game is to spotlight your story and go exactly the way you want it to for your entertainment, you should consider writing a book instead.
My character is staying with another character who has their own blog. When people (especially anons) ask her if they can stay over, she’ll always tell them to ask the other guy first since it’s not her house. It bugs the living daylights out of me when they come back saying “He said yes!”, then when I go look or ask the other mun about it and it turns out they didn’t ask AT ALL. It’s been stated several times in the headcanon/about pages that she lives with the other guy, so… Eesh.
Hate when people don’t ask for permission.
