Disney’s Fantasia : ”Night on Bald Mountain sequence (1940)

I’m inclined to think it’s the #1 problem with RPs. Or at least in the top 5.

I’d understand if it’s something the character does (IC=/=OOC!), but 10 times out of 9 when this happens it’s the mun speaking through their character, especially if their character would know about a gender neutral species, or is supposed to be open-minded and accepting. [If it’s a species trait, then no, no matter what you say the character does not “have” to be either a boy or a girl.] They do this simply because the pronouns are “hard” or “aren’t grammatically correct”. They are correct. Don’t be a baby.

You may run the game, but the purpose of the game isn’t for us to entertain you. We’re here to play our characters and have fun AS A GROUP, and our characters going to react in ways IC for them. If you aren’t prepared for them to do certain actions and if the purpose of your game is to spotlight your story and go exactly the way you want it to for your entertainment, you should consider writing a book instead.

Bad Leadership

I know I’ve ranted about piss poor leadership before, but I have to just say it again. Primarily if a majority of your minions ( guild/legion/linkshell ) seem to think you’re doing a piss poor job as a leader, you probably are. Yes it’s true that guild leaders do so much behind the scenes, that a lot of their hard work goes unappreciated. Sadly that’s the lot of the life of a Leader. People are going to hate you, and people are going to love you. It just comes with the job.

When a majority of your officers and guild ask you to step down from power, that means there is something that you’ve over looked. Even if an entire community is telling you to step down from power, you might want to stop and think. No, this isn’t about the world against you. You’re a small fragment in existence. This has nothing to do with some conspiracy theory that your paranoid little mind has wrapped around.

This is about you and whatever issues you have, that you’re bringing into the guild/legion/linkshell setting. Often times this is temperament. If you have anger problems, or you jump to conclusions easily, don’t give people the time or chance to explain situations, or you dismiss them entirely, then yes. It’s not them, it’s you. Leadership is about being understanding, guiding and helping the people around you. It wouldn’t be called leadership, if there was no leading involved.

You cant just make a community and expect it to run itself, and when it doesn’t, it’s unfair to yell at people for trying to make it work. Failure in your eyes isn’t an option, and that’s a problem. You need to be flexible. The moment that you cant listen to others, there’s no way you’ll be able to solve future problems, and thus, you’re leadership will begin to crumble. Pirates don’t mutiny a ship’s captain without good cause. If this is a continuous pattern you seem to follow from game to game, community to community, it’s not a problem with incompetent people. It’s a problem with you.

As an adult, the responsible thing to do is to step up and work on your own problems. What are you doing to drive people away? Think about it and fucking work on it. Don’t be a shit and say “It was all them, it wasn’t me. I’m perfect as I am.” Because that’s bullshit. Maybe stepping away from leadership responsibilities would be a good idea. Because clearly, you cant handle them.

My character is staying with another character who has their own blog. When people (especially anons) ask her if they can stay over, she’ll always tell them to ask the other guy first since it’s not her house. It bugs the living daylights out of me when they come back saying “He said yes!”, then when I go look or ask the other mun about it and it turns out they didn’t ask AT ALL. It’s been stated several times in the headcanon/about pages that she lives with the other guy, so… Eesh.

Hate when people don’t ask for permission.
